Instructor
This course will be led by Scott Kubie, Director of Content Career Accelerator.
Time Commitment
Coursework, readings, and discussions outside of class will require ~2-3 hours per week. Your full time commitment including classes, course work, online discussions, and office hours attendance may total between 30 and 40 hours.
Some coursework activities can be used to set strategy (or at least begin to) with your team. If you wish to run exercises like voice architecture, strategy statements, or prioritized audiences with colleagues or clients, you may wish to budget 90 minutes to 3 hours of stakeholder time for a workshop, and 2-3 hours of your own to prepare for it, for a given activity.
Course Experience
Cohort Space & Onboarding
You’ll have access to an online space for discussions and activities with your cohort. It will also include “onboarding” to the course, with recommended reading and videos, as well as an orientation to the technology we’ll be using in the workshop if you need it.
Technical Requirements
For class sessions, you will need a fast and reliable internet connection, a webcam, and the ability to access and use Miro, Zoom, and Google Drive. For an optimal experience, we recommend using headphones or earbuds during classes, and a large or secondary computer monitor. Miro can be run in a web browser. You do not need a paid Miro account.
Discussion threads, assigned readings, video recordings, and similar materials are accessible via the web and should work fine on most laptops, tablets, or smartphones.
Class Sessions
Classes will endeavor to start on time and end on time. We will typically have a short break near the middle.
Class Recordings & Materials
We will attempt to record and make available all full-group portions of class — lectures, discussions, Q&A. Online recordings are subject to glitches and interference, and portions of some classes may not get recorded. Breakout activities and small-group discussions are not recorded, and neither are office hours — these are good opportunities to discuss potentially sensitive challenges in your organization or in your career.
Class recordings and materials may be made available to learners and CCA community members who were not part of your cohort. They will never be posted publicly.
Transcription
Automated captions will be available via Zoom during the class.
Camera Usage
Zoom fatigue is real. First and foremost, take care of yourself. We encourage ‘cameras on’ for introductions, small group discussions and breakout activities, and Q&A. You’re welcome to go ‘camera off’ during lecture portions or as needed for personal reasons.
Certificates and Endorsements
This is not a ‘certified’ or accredited course, it is expert-led professional development training. Students who attend most class sessions and complete most coursework can request a certificate of completion.
Highly-engaged students are welcome to request a LinkedIn endorsement about their participation from their instructor at the conclusion of the course.
